Sunday Thought~Human Nature

"We make a serious mistake by noticing
only the human nature of one another
and then failing to see God's hand working
through those He has called."
-Elder M. Russell Ballard

I've enjoyed Proverbs 3:5 & 6 this week.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Our human nature has a voracious appetite to 'understand' things.  To be able to get our minds around the 'why's' in life...relationships, business, doctrine, etc... But understanding alone will never bring us peace.  Solomon was considered one of the wisest men in history...understood more than most, but it never led him to peace.  Rather than fulfillment he found futility and lost his faith late in life.  It gives such confirmation to why God said trust ME...not your understanding.  Don't look for mastery on our own...look to the Master.

This past week my thoughts have been a little scattered. It was a busy week, and I was on the road a lot; roads that were snowy, slippery and icy. I got a lot of praying in and I had a ton of thoughts.

Have you ever had a week where you weren't home much, and it seemed like God wanted you to get your thoughts in order?  That is what happened to me last week.  I had several things I was dealing with in relationships, with my kids, etc. When I try to figure them out on my own I just get confused, frustrated, sad and angry etc. When I rest in the arms of my master and read his word I can breath and relax!

Verse 13 in John 15 came to mind a lot;
Greater love hath no man this this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
I am thankful for a friend above us that laid his life down for me. We as humans, seem to forget that life will be better if we help each other out. Last week was a true testament to me. I need to be a better friend, I need to understand God's way better.

I understand that I have work to do.
I understand that we all need to look to our Master.
I understand that I need to be a better friend.
I understand that I need to trust in the Lord at ALL times!

Happy Monday, Dear Friends!!
