Random Facts/Thoughts I Thought You Should Know #2

Hello Blog Friends~

Today is the second edition of  Randoms Facts and Thoughts.

I did a little internet research and Googled..............

September 9!

This is my thoughts/facts and ramblings for the day:

On this day in 1956, Elvis Presley appears on Ed Sullivan's show Toast of the Town and scandalized audiences with his suggestive hip movements.

Could you just imagine that sight? This fact made me smile, just thinking about Elvis dancing in the 50's!!

In 1945, the first bug was discovered in a Computer Software Program when operators at the Harvard Faculty at the Computation Laboratory traced an error in the Mark II Computer to a moth trapped in a relay, coining the term bug.

My thoughts on the "computer bug"are I wish the bug problems would still be moths instead of high tech business! Don't you?

In 2003 Itunes from Apple sells it's 10 millionth song after just 4 months.

I don't know about you but we love Itunes!!

In 2005, at the  Guantanamo Bay Prison Camp, 87 prisoners decided to go on a hunger strike. They didn't like the detention and thought they were getting treated inhumanly.

Umm, you probably don't want to know my thoughts on this one!!

Beef Fact:
It is reported that the world’s largest hamburgers are made at Sioux Sundries in Harrison, Nebraska. This burger consists of two 1-pound slabs of ground beef, six slices of American cheese, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes, all between a burger bun. A regular-sized bun, that is.

O my goodness, that is a lot of BEEF.

Here is a good one:
It is illegal to go whale fishing in Nebraska.

This fact makes me laugh.  Where would we find a whale? Lake McConaughy? HAHA

Did you know that there is a “Facebook Addiction Disorder”? This is a mental disorder identified by Psychologists!

Umm, I might have a little Facebook Addiction Disorder. What about you?

Ranch life fact,
Mare (Girl) horses have 36 teeth, while geldings, studs (Boys) have 40 teeth.

I found this fact a little scary,
95% of people text things they could never say in person.

And what do you think of this fact:
The Bible is the most shoplifted book in the world.

This would be a fun job:
Before there were alarm clocks, there were “knockers-up”, who were hired to shoot dried peas from a blow gun at people’s windows in order to wake them up in the morning.

Honey, Honey and Honey.
When sealed in a container, honey will not rot and will stay good for thousands of years.
and
When a bee dies in a hive, there are undertakers who will carry the dead bee out of the hive.

I found this fact interesting:
A famous native American named Blackbird was said to have loved his horse so much that he was buried sitting on top of it.

I find this really gross:
15% of air you breathe in an average Metro station is human skin.

This is why the meadows smell good,
The smell you smell when you mow grass is actually the grass giving off a chemical distress call.

And my last fact for today,
If the Titanic would have hit the iceberg head-on, it probably would have survived.

UMMM, but the movie is really cool.

Ok last one for today:
An apple, potato, and onion all taste the same if you eat them with your nose plugged.

Try it for me and report back.  HAHA

Thanks for stopping by today.
Hope you have a good weekend!!
