When your Father is a Cowboy

When your Father is a Cowboy....... You learn to
In honor of Father's Day this Sunday, I wrote a quick poem.

When your Father is a Cowboy

When your Father is a Cowboy................
You grow up differently than the kids around you.
Your Father teaches you things like changing oil in your pickup or how to rope.

When your Father is a Cowboy............
He teaches you hard work will pay off.

When your Father is a Cowboy................
You learn about life and you learn about death.
You learn how to treat sick animals and you learn
how to skin a deer.

When your Father is a Cowboy................
You learn that doing things the right way first is always better.

When your Father is a Cowboy..........
You learn how to fix fence!

When your Father is a Cowboy..............
You hear stories of wild, bucking horses bucking thru mamas garden.
You hear stories of roping a coyotes or chasing the mean badgers.

When your Father is a Cowboy...............
Your family vacations are picnics at the creek or long cattle drives.

When your Father is a Cowboy...........
You learn to pack a snack or two because you might not be in for lunch.

When your Father is a Cowboy..............
You hear things like: "Get up. You are wasting God's daylight."

When your Father is a Cowboy.............
There is no time to cry.

When your Father is a Cowboy.............
You always have a friend.

When your Father is a Cowboy.............
He teaches you manners and traditions.

When your Father is a Cowboy...........
His hands feel like sand paper.

When your Father is a Cowboy............
The first vehicle you drove is a tractor!

When your Father is a Cowboy...........
You find yourself more interested in the weather
and the cattle markets then you do the news.

When your Father is a Cowboy.............
You learn when he says, "Will you help me get the cows moved?"
Really means, you will be helping me alllllll day.

When your Father is a Cowboy............
You learn work ethic at a very early age.

When your Father is a Cowboy.............
You don't get a wage. You get a pat on the back.

When your Father is a Cowboy...........
You have the best life!

Happy Father's Day!!
